First-ever client/server version of Clients & Profits uses Oracle 8

June 10, 1999 -- SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- Clients & Profits, Inc. announced today CLIENTS & PROFITS SQL, its first-ever client/server agency management system. The new software is a SQL-based version of its Clients & Profits Pro, an award-winning job tracking, costing, billing, and accounting system for advertising agencies, graphic design studios, and corporate design/marcom department. The system is cross-platform, supporting both Mac and Windows users.

CLIENTS & PROFITS SQL is based on Oracle 8, the database that powers the internet. "Oracle 8 gives CLIENTS & PROFITS SQL the performance, accessibility, and reliability that our large clients have been asking for" as they've grown, said Mark Robillard, the company's founder and its lead developer. The new software, which will be available June 30, 1999, is being promoted initially as an upgrade to Clients & Profits Pro. Existing Clients & Profits Pro users can upgrade without losing any clients, jobs, costs, or accounting data. "We're really designed it with our current users in mind," according to Robillard. "Compatibility with their existing database and a small learning curve was their greatest concern."
