The Wednesday Workshops are
in-depth, one day classes on advanced topics of
interest to experienced Clients & Profits
users.
Workshops are offered on selected Wednesdays prior to
the two-day new user training classes. They are small
and personalized (limited to 10 participants), so
space is limited. Workshops are hands-on, and
computers are not provided. Bringing your laptop
computer (either Mac or PC) is highly recommended
(bring a current copy of your database, too).
For more information and dates on upcoming workshops,
please call (800) 272-4488.

March 17 The
Custom Reports workshop shows technically savvy
Clients & Profits users how to create, modify, and
use custom reports using the built-in report writer,
Crystal Reports, and in Microsoft Excel using ODBC.

and power users how to analyze their job, cost, and
accounting data by moving beyond the standard Clients
& Profits reports. The cost includes a workshop

System Manager
Workshop - $495 per person
2004 Dates: TBA
The System Manager Workshop is not a hands-on course
explaining how to add jobs, costs, and billings.
Instead, it is a fast-paced, technically-oriented
class designed to help system managers better
configure, maintain, and manage a Clients &
Profits system.
The System Manager Workshop is taught by John
Duffy.
The workshop's goals include:
-- orient system managers to the software's basic
features and benefits
-- introduce the big picture (jobs, costs, billings)
and encourage everyone to use it fully
-- present important features that shouldn't be
overlooked
-- discuss strategies for overcoming resistance from
reluctant users
-- discuss strategies for training busy users
-- discuss how to setup and run a help desk
-- emphasize the importance of fast decision-making
(and not getting overwhelmed with details)
-- explain how to best set up options and
preferences
-- emphasize productivity instead of detail
-- explain strategies for troubleshooting and problem
solving
-- discuss likely places where problems occur
The System Manager Workshop reviews the basics of
Clients & Profits from a system manager's
perspective: workstations, servers, networks, backing
up, security, and database management. We'll talk
about the system's best benefits--and the steps to
take to get there. We'll help you make a checklist of
the features you want or need most, to help you plan
your strategy. We'll work on an action list of things
to do, focusing on how to best use your resources.
We'll review all aspects of product and technical
support for your system.
