iPhone Time Card

You love your new iPhone, right? Now use it to track your time anywhere, anytime. The new iPhone time card lets you add time quickly and easily using scrolling lists of job and tasks (so there's nothing to memorize!). The time you enter is saved instantly into your C&P database back at the office.

How to upgrade
The Clients & Profits X 10.2 upgrade is available only as a download. The upgrade installer includes the new C&P X application, an updated Acrobat-based Feature Guide (33 mb) and an Installation Guide (5 mb). All workstations need to be upgraded at the same time. The first time you start C&P X 10.2 you'll be prompted to convert your database, which can take up to an hour. Clients & Profits X 10.2 will run as a 60-day trial demo until the database is registered and the software

Like previous versions, C&P X 10.2 works on a wide variety of workstations and servers:

WORKSTATION: Any new Intel (or) late-model PowerPC Mac with 1gb RAM and Mac OS X 10.4 or later. C&P X 10.2 also runs on any late-model Windows Vista-based PC. Also supports Windows XP.

SERVER: Xserve running Mac OS X Server 10.4.4 or later (or) any Windows Server 2003.

Now you can use these industry-standard, industrial-stength back-end SQL Server Expressdatabases to manage your clients, jobs, costs, and billings without expensive license fees and support contracts. And since MySQL 5 runs on the Apple XServe, your shop can now be 100% Mac OS X.

CREDIT CARD STATEMENTS An intelligent new credit card manager makes tracking purchases made on the shop's VISA, MasterCard, or American Express quick, easy and simple. Vendor invoices can now be paid by credit card when they are added into Clients & Profits, then cleared off automatically when credit card statements are entered every month. Clients & Profits X 10.2 remembers all of your credit card purchases for the month and displays them for you when you add the statement. Just add the new purchases from the statement then go ... the statement and its purchases are self-reconciled automatically.

ONLINE PAYMENTS Since vendors can now be paid directly from your bank's web site, getting those payments into Clients & Profits wasn't easy. Now, it's a snap. Online payments can now be recorded just like a conventional check, when they happen or from the bank statement.

WEB-BASED CREATIVE DASHBOARD The old web-based time card is now a creative dashboard. It's a web time card on steroids: instead of just tracking time, the dashboard shows your job hot sheet, your task deadlines, and your daily time card. Staff members can now stay informed anywhere they work, anytime they want.

IPHONE TIME CARD When you access the C&P X 10.2 web time card from an iPhone, you'll see something different: instead of a regular web page, you'll see a time card designed especially for the iPhone user interface. It's now easy to track your time anywhere, anytime right from your iPhone. The iPhone time card makes it easy: just choose your job and task from scrolling lists (there's nothing to memorize!), enter your hours, then type in a description -- that's it. The hours you enter are instantly saved into your shop's database back at the office.

WHO'S CONNECTED The new Who's Connected window lets system managers monitor who's currently using Clients & Profits X in real-time. For each user you'll see the his or her IP address, last login date and time, and the last activity the user did. System managers can send users email alerts or messages easily, as well as remotely log off selected users.

APPROVAL MANAGER* A smart new approval manager simplifies and automates the entire approval process for jobs, artwork and content, estimates and schedules, purchase and insertion orders, media plans and estimates, vendor invoices, and client billings. Anyone can add approval requests, which can be approved in real-time in Clients & Profits X 10.2. Every step in the approval process is communicated via e-mail for better accountability.

VENDOR PRINTING RFQs WITH AUTOMATIC ORDERING The printing specifications process has been completely modernized for today's print projects. Adding a print spec is now fast and easy and completely customizable. It features  an automated request for quotation (RFQ) system that e-mails quote requests to up to three vendors, tracks their bids, then electronically notifies the winning bidder. It even creates the purchase order automatically.

RECURRING BILLING* Job billings for routine monthly charges like retainers, web hosting, account management fees, and more can now be scheduled for up to a year in advance, then are added automatically into Accounts Receivable as unposted invoices.

CREATIVE DASHBOARD Inspired by the popular Clients & Profits ASAP (our web-based studio manager) home page, the Creative Dashboard combines a staff member's daily time card, the day's task deadlines, and job hot sheet into a single window. The dashboard can be set to open automatically instead of the Information Center.

JOB SCHEDULE REVISION TRACKING* Like estimates, prior revisions to a job schedule can be saved and recalled later as needed. A past revision can be made current, replacing the existing schedule with one click. Every job can have an unlimited number of schedule revisions.

EXPENSE REPORT PAYABLES* If a staff member is added as a vendor, their expense reports can automatically be added as an accounts payable invoice to be paid on the next check run, instead of cutting a check separately at the time the expense is added.

SALES COMMISSIONS* The painful process of tracking and calculating sales commissions for AEs and business developement execs is now completely automated. Commission rates are based on job type and can be a percentage or flat-rate spiff. Individual tasks can be made commissionable, which C&P X uses to calculate commissions. A/R reports show commissions for AE, invoice by invoice. An option is available to only pay commissions based on paid invoices.
