40% sales growth in 1998 helps company move up to 19th spot March 1, 1999 -- OCEANSIDE, CA -- Clients & Profits, Inc. ranked the 19th largest software company in San Diego county by the San Diego Business Journal. The Journal's new "Book of Lists" showed the company moving up from the 22nd spot last year. The list, which is published every February, ranks the top companies in San Diego County by industry based on 1998 revenue. The company's sales increases 40% in 1998, on top of a 75% rise in 1997. "We've seen tremendous growth in our client base, particularly over the past year," said Mark Robillard, Clients & Profits developer and founder, attributing the growing revenues to the synergy created by increased advertiser spending. According to a recent study by Advertising Age, national ad spending increased by $6.5 billion -- up nearly 10% -- in 1997. Agencies who are handling clients with heftier ad budgets are looking for ways to streamline their business functions, Manning said, and they're turning to Clients & Profits for its agency management software. In early 1998 the company released the Clients & Profits Pro/Agency Manager 3.0, a major upgrade to its flagship software. New upgrades to its other products, Clients & Profits Classic and Job Tracker, followed midyear. All of the new versions features enhanced job tracking, cost accounting, and business analysis reporting.
