C&P MEDIA LINK 3.0 IMPORTS INSERTION ORDERS, VENDOR INVOICES
New upgrade notifies accounting staff of new media orders via e-mail
August 7, 1999 -- OCEANSIDE, CA -- Clients & Profits, Inc. today announced the release of C&P Media Link 3.0, an enhanced version of its media interface to SmartPlus, Strata, and Tapscan. The upgraded software now imports print insertion orders and vendor media invoices.
The Media Link interface lets Clients & Profits users import media orders automatically. Imported media buys appear as broadcast orders or print insertion orders in Clients & Profits without any duplicate data entry.
"These enhancements," says Mark Robillard, developer and founder of Clients & Profits, Inc., "lets Clients & Profits users eliminate rekeying broadcast orders, print orders, and media payables" from Strata, SmartPlus, or Tapscan. "Even small shops," he adds, "can easily save hundreds of hours each year."
Strata was the first media buying system to support the Standard Media Interface, a nonproprietary specification that simplifies and automates the interface between media buying systems and accounting systems. (The SMI, which was developed by Clients & Profits, Inc. is available royalty-free to the advertising industry). "Strata users can now utilize our full suite of media buying tools and fully integrate the data into Clients & Profits," says David Drucker, Vice President, Manager of Advertising Agency Services for Strata Marketing, Inc. "Getting orders into C&P is quick and easy. It'll make the print billing process seamless."
Joy Baer, Product Manager at Strata, helped develop the Strata/C&P interface. "I think this is a great opportunity for our clients to get the most out of the relationship between Clients & Profits and Strata. Together we eliminated the need for double entry in two systems, freeing up our users' time for more important tasks."
MRP's SmartPlus system already supports print order and vendor invoices exporting, and should be the first to fully interface with Media Link 3.0 later this year. "Quite a few SmartPlus and PrintPlus agencies use Clients & Profits," says Jim Paull, Executive Vice President/Sales & Marketing, MRP/IMS. "We've been developing electronic transactions for a number of years, and this interface will add that much more value for our mutual clients. The media and accounting departments I've spoken with are always looking for ways to further streamline their processes and ensure accuracy, and Media Link 3.0 will give them that advantage."
A future version of TAPSCAN's MediaMaster will export print buys as well, according to Jennifer Williams, TAPSCAN WORLDWIDE's Director of Product Development. "This will be a great benefit to our mutual clients who subscribe to our MediaMaster system." MediaMaster is the TAPSCAN WORLDWIDE system that offers multimedia reach and frequency as well as newspaper, magazine and outdoor buying capabilities.
The upgrade also features improved performance, a more detailed event log, and an option to notify a staff member via e-mail whenever a new media order is imported. "In shops that buy a lot of media, someone in Accounting may not know about new orders until weeks later," says Mark Robillard, who developed the C&P Media Link. "Now a bookkeeper will know instantly whenever a new media order is imported, then get it ready for billing. This can really speed up media billing."
The C&P Media Link application is offered free to Clients & Profits Pro 4 and Clients & Profits Classic 4 users. It is only available from the Clients & Profits web site: www.clientsandprofits.com/media/media_link.html.
