macOS Sonoma Compatible with Clients & Profits

Compatibility Release macOS Sonoma

Our testing with macOS Sonoma is now complete. We've observed minor graphical issues with the tooltips and the toolbar, though the application has successfully passed the majority of compatibility tests. To address these graphical concerns, we will be releasing an updated download soon. Please consult with our IT team before proceeding with the upgrade. First Release macOS Ventura

Following a successful review of the Ventura beta, we are pleased to report we have not found any major compatibility issues in the current release, macOS Ventura, running Clients & Profits. The issues we observed were mostly minor cosmetic issues: 

• icons getting cut off in the toolbars and an issue using the
• logo alignment controls in preferences. 

These issues are reported to our developement team. We hope to have them resolved soon. Beyond those, our first assessment shows no major compatibility issues for users that need to upgrade to macOS Ventura. As always, we caution that the new macOS is as just stated "brand new" and may contain undiscovered issues. We recommend taking time before upgrading. Please discuss any upgrades with your IT team.

Official macOS Monterey Compatiblity

Following a very successful beta period, we've released the official update for Clients & Profits, compatible with macOS Monterey. Previous operating systems can continue running prior versions of Clients & Profits, but only the latest download will support macOS Monterey. The latest version is availabe from our main downloads page using your company login and password.

The beta version will automatically update to this official release without the need to reinstall. If you are using macOS Monterey, contact our helpdesk for a download link. If you've installed a prior version of Clients & Profits please remember to run the uninstaller before installing the new version.

We recommend waiting to upgrade to macOS "Monterey" until it's been evaluated for use with Clients & Profits Cloud. Please direct any questions to our helpdesk.

Update 11/2/21: After further evaluating macOS Monterey our team has found some graphical issues, not present with previous beta releases, when running Clients & Profits Cloud on the new macOS release. This includes a critical issue that can make the active field appear in all black, preventing the user from seeing what they have typed. Our team is working with our development software to resolve these issues. At this time we do NOT recommend running Clients & Profits on macOS Monterey.

Clients & Profits 11.3 Required Upgrade

Clients & Profits 11.3.1 was released earlier this year to address compatibility with the latest macOS Big Sur. It also uses a 64-bit architecture. We are officially ending all updates for the previous Clients & Profits 11.2 application. All Mac and Windows users should now install the most current Clients & Profits 11.3.1 for the latest updates, support and compatibility. You can receive the application by contacting Sales or our Help Desk for your company’s download credentials.

Please note Clients & Profits 11.3.x requires macOS Sierra (10.12) and later or Windows 8.1 and later.

New Apple Hardware Compatibility

We’ve received some questions lately from our clients asking if Clients & Profits is supported using the new M1 chip. The answer is yes, the latest release of Clients & Profits is supported on both Big Sur and the M1 chip. The application is compiled immediately the first time it’s run, for compatibility, with the new M1 architecture and is fully capable if running in this environment. So, there is no worry about buying new apple hardware and running Clients & Profits.

macOS Big Sur Official Release

We are pleased to announce the latest release of Clients & Profits, now compatible with macOS 11 Big Sur. The latest release is now generally available from our downloads page. If you already have a login and password your agency can download it right away. If you need the link or login information please contact our help desk. The latest release, 11.3.1 is nearly identical to its predecessor 11.3 aside from Big Sur compatibility. Installing this over previous installations will require you to run the uninstaller packaged with the new download before installing. If you are still running Clients & Profits 11.2 we recommend you plan to upgrade soon, as Clients & Profits 11.3.x will be a required upgrade in the coming months.

Please note Clients & Profits 11.3.x requires macOS Sierra (10.12) and later or Windows 8.1 and later.

Our development team has spent the summer testing Clients & Profits with the brand new macOS Big Sur. This new OS has been redesigned to accommodate for the new Apple chips, so it’s no surprise that there are a lot of changes. This new architecture will require Clients & Profits to integrate some updates to allow compatibility with the new OS before it can be used. Clients & Profits 11.3 Recommended Upgrade

Clients &Profits 11.3 was released early this year to address compatibility with the latest macOS Catalina. Due to the pandemic, many of our users and people across the world have been working remotely without the help of any IT infrastructure. In considering the needs of our users, we have decided to keep Clients &Profits 11.3 as a "soft release" (optional). Although, we do strongly recommend users upgrade to our latest version as soon as possible to keep up with the latest updates. We do not have a date yet as to when the 11.3 will be a required update, but we want to be clear this will happen eventually.

*As a reminder, there will be no updates to Clients &Profits X to address compatibility with Catalina. Any one still using Clients &Profits X that needs future macOS compatibility should contact our sales team at 1-800-272-4488 or through our website.

Shelter in Place Order California COVID19

As many of you already know the State of California has issued a shelter in place order for people living in the state. Our offices are in Oceanside, California. How does this affect our services? In light of recent events, we’ve been preparing for the last month to move all employees to work remotely. Many of our employees have been working remote for the past couple of weeks. As of today, our Help Desk and Sales team will be fully remote. This was already planned, prepared and tested before the order so we expect a fairly smooth transition. Please understand there may be some small delays with calls and the actual sound may be less than normal as many of these employees will be using their home internet to speak with you. If at all possible please email our Help Desk or Sales teams. We appreciate your cooperation during this time. Clients &Profits has released its new Clients &Profits Cloud Beta that is compatible with macOS Catalina. This release is not only Catalina compatible, but also has some other upgraded features which we'll be talking more about soon. You can obtain a copy of this beta release by contacting our Clients &Profits Help Desk or our Sales team.

Please take into account that this is still beta software and is not intended to be relied on for normal use just yet. The release is for testing only and should be used only for previewing and testing purposes. Any issues found with this release should be reported to the Help Desk for review.

Catalina News

We want to address a few items that have come up recently regarding the Mac OS Catalina (10.15) upgrade. Clients & Profits Cloud is currently not compatible with Mac OS Catalina (10.15). We hope to have a Beta out this month for the upgrade that will provide this compatibility. We've recenlty fielded some calls reguarding Adobe Creative Cloud's requiremnt for upgrade to Catalina. According to the Adobe Creative Cloud website, their products are compatible with Mac 10.12 and up and do not require Mac OS Catalina (10.15).Please check their website for compatibly https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/system-requirements.html

If you have upgraded to Mac OS Catalina (10.15), you can still run Clients & Profits from a cloud-based Windows virtual machine. You can also re-install Mojave which is still available in the app store. Here are some providers that offer cloud and local windows virtual machine options:

• Microsoft Azure: https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/services/virtual-desktop/ (Windows virtual desk in the cloud, offers a free tier)
• Amazon Workspaces: https://aws.amazon.com/workspaces/ (offers a limited free tier)
• Virtual Box https://www.virtualbox.org/ (free, but you’ll need a serialized/paid version of windows to run the a windows 7/8/10 virtual machine).

IMPORTANT
Don't use macOS Catalina with Clients & Profits

Apple released the latest upgrade to macOS entitled macOS Catalina (10.15). We do not recommend upgrading to Catalina at this time if you are using the Clients & Profits application on your computer. Our team is currently working on a new release for Clients & Profits Cloud that will be compatible with macOS Catalina. We will release more details when the official release is available. Any users only logging into the Jobr Mobile interface will not be affected by the Catalina upgrade. Jobr Mobile has been tested and works just fine on this platform.

If neccessary you can still download Mojave from the apple store.
